AVIANCA – SKY AIRLINE CODESHARE AGREEMENT

The codeshare agreement between Avianca and Sky Airline allows travelers to quickly and efficiently connect with more cities in Chile and Colombia.

With the launch of this agreement the airlines strengthen their route networks in Latin America.

On Thursday May 31, 2012, the bilateral agreement of cooperation between the Colombian airline Avianca and the Chilean airline Sky Airline to operate codeshare routes within Colombia and Chile comes into effect, complementing the agreement already signed last October between TACA Peru and Sky Airline.

In the second phase of this agreement passengers flying from the Chilean capital with Sky Airline to Bogota can take connecting flights with Avianca to Barranquilla, Cali, Cartagena, Medellin, San Andres and Santa Marta.

Avianca passengers landing in Santiago de Chile can take connecting flights with Sky Airline to Iquique, Calama, Puerto Natales, Antofagasta, Copiapo, Concepción, Temuco, Puerto Montt and Punta Arenas.

This agreement includes the marketing of Bogota-Santiago de Chile airline tickets via Avianca. Avianca and Sky Airline customers can purchase their tickets through the different sales systems, sales offices, call center lines and travel agencies. A single ticket is all that is required when traveling on all the routes of both airlines, resulting in more benefits for travelers: less connection times, the elimination of multiple check-in processes and the optimization baggage handling.

Fabio Villegas Ramírez, the CEO of AviancaTACA noted: “Implementation of this codeshare Alliance with Sky Airline is an important step for AviancaTaca, allowing us to consolidate our route network and the destinations available in the south of the continent. This increases the connection options and services for the customers of both airlines that travel in the region.”

Jürgen Paulmann, CEO and main shareholder of Sky Airline explained that the signing of the codeshare agreement with Avianca and Taca, was satisfying for Sky Airline as it reflects the confidence between the airlines and their shared goal of offering the inhabitants of all the countries involved a service with better travel options.

TACA Peru-Sky Airline Codeshare
On October 24, 2011 the first stage of this agreement came into force, through the implementation of TACA Peru/Lacsa - Sky Airline codeshare operations, broadening the range of destinations available to travelers in Peru and Chile.

Sky Airline passengers landing in Lima with the Chilean airline, can continue their journey to Trujillo, Tarapoto and Juliaca with TACA Peru. Sky will also market the Lima-Santiago route operated by TACA.

Similarly, travelers arriving in Santiago on TACA Peru flights can continue their journeys to Iquique, Calama, Puerto Natales, Antofagasta, Copiapo, Concepcion, Temuco, Puerto Montt and Punta Arenas with the Chilean airline. TACA Peru also offers its passengers the Santiago-Antofagasta-Lima and Santiago-Lima routes operated by Sky.
